I think Gen X and Y are turned off to large charities who seem to behave like corporate wanna be's. I think they are more in tuned with local charities and the whole nation seems to rally when a national disaster hits anywhere in the world.

I'm a generation X-er. I give money to my church mostly (who supports lots of charitable organizations), but to other places too. I also give clothes and toys and things to a local thrift store. I expect that you'll find that most people are like me.
