not a pedal, not effect, it goes near the person's belt like behind the person.. id say it's used to be able to walk around and stuff

its a wireless guitar set-up. it gives you the freedom to move around the room your playing in so you can hear what it sounds like out where people are sitting. you dont have to worry about tripping over your chord.
