i would first consider 1]do you just want to participate
2]do you want to seriously compete
if the answer is #2 then the first thing i would do is decide which
sport your body is acclimated to. for instance, are you fast or slow; tall or short; thin or muscular; etc. from this evaluation i would move in a direction that you might already have a head
start in. for instance, if you think your best trait is speed, consider track first, or maybe any other that combines speed.
some people in high school for instance specialize as "pinch runners" as well as running track. if you have strength then wrestling, endurance maybe cross country , etc.. you may have
a guidance counselor or physical ed teacher who could help you
narrow these selections. good luck!

if you watch enough sports and listen to the interviews almost always the common thread is the individuals competetive nature, drive to be the best and willingness to work harder than the guy next to him/her.i went to high school with a pro baseball player who wasnt the most gifted player but he worked extremely hard in the off season.mike alstott lived 15 miles away and his high school work outs where amazing.the baseball player now holds the rbi record in the alcs and has 2 world series wins.

Your drive to your goal is what is gonna get you there. Work hard, eat good, get good grades so you can go to a good college, and be really really dedicated. Good luck!
