You know how some of the themes in goth movies that have to do with a romance are obsession, lust, passion, wanting more than you can handle, being unable to give up your love, etc. Which movie truly captures this as in both the lustful side and the gothic atmosphere? It can be a horror movie, drama, anything.

I don't know if these exactly fit the bill, but they all have a thread of eroticism or sexiness running through them:

1) The Hunger- an awesome film, a little old, but I think fits the bill.

2) Cat People

3) Embrace of the Vampire

4) Vampyres

5) Countess Dracula

6) The Vampire Lovers

7) Daughters of Darkness- also comes very highly recommended.

8) Interview with a Vampire has streaks of male-male eroticism, but they're very faint.

9) Bound is very dark and sort of gothic (not to mention on-the-edge of your seat thrills- man, I love this movie!), plus it's very sexy.

10) It could be argued, I suppose, that Crash (with James Spader) is fairly gothic and dark (wonderful Chronenberg film), and it's definitely obsessive passion and sex for something more than one can handle.

11) If you don't mind trippiness, David Lynch films are a pretty creepy mix of sexiness, erotic undertones, and gothic, noirish, macabre themes. Try "Blue Velvet" or "Mullholland Drive".

Hope those help, and happy movie watching!

Gypsy 83, with Kett Turton the misfit goth who even in the end still doesn't fit in. It's one of my favorite movies.♥
Even though he's a gay goth in the movie, and is straight in real life, I think he pulled it off.
