Law and order plays an important role in the legal profession. If all citizens are law abiding, the legal profession would have become redundant. Legal professionals should thank the crime in society that enables them to make money.

Inaccurately, but entertaining. Over 80% of all criminal cases end in a plea bargain and never see the inside of a courtroom.

But that makes for poor entertainment.

Most lawyers go their entire careers without making case law . L&O does it on almost every episode. Few people make acareer out of the DA's office in real life.

And the only DA's office with that many Armani clad hotties is on Fantasy Island..........But that is another show.

Inaccurately. While I enjoy watching all versions of Law & Order because of the drama and storylines, it is about as far away as one can get from real police work and the real practice of law. I can pick out horrible errors in every episode.
