Yes it could result in that but thank about today's generation of superstars have story-lines written write on there forehead..Storyline writers to blame...They need stronger storyline like how it was back then in the 90's...If you noticed the rating have went down over the past couple of years...because of how "fake" it started to become...so to answer your question correctly..I don't think people would actually care because they would know it's storyline...but him turning into a "bad guy" would make ratings go high since that's really what Vince is into,ratings, because the more John could turn into...the more ppl would tune into to watch it....to see how John acts

When he first entered the WWE Cena was a heel. I hated him then. I hate him now. If he turned heel. I would feel the same. I am telling you though It is his character that sucks. In person he is an OK guy.

I'm a Cena fan, and I think he was a better heel on SD in '03 then there are on there now. I'd still cheer for him. His first rivalry with Kurt Angle was classic.

He's getting on my nerves with his two belts ( I'm not hating )
but he had the champion for so long now, it seems like they just let him hold on to it to attract fans.
And now.........
Fans are getting pretty bored.
