i am travelling to sharm el sheikh in egypt in 9 week with my young children does anyone know if there are shops that sell baby food nappies etc.....

sure u'll find what u want cause u know sharm el shikh is for tourists ...dont u worry but u know what i prefer u get ur supplies from back home :D no no kidding u'll find what u need but probably its going to be a bit more expensive

there are lots of pharmacies out there but are quite pricey, most the shops in nanm you have to barter for a price so you can get some good bargains, but some places like the pharmacies have a set price. sharm is by far the best place I've been, the marine life is beautiful so you should definitely go on a glass bottom boat to see all the coral reefs.

you will definitely find nappies and baby food. The most popular would be Pampers for nappies and Gerber for baby food. You can easily find those in any Pharmacy in Egypt, so you don't even have to look for baby shops.

yes there were chemists out there in narma bay selling most things that an english chemist would sell BUT the prices are through the roof and the choice is limited.and contrary to some of the above comments the majority of egyptians i have met do not use disposable nappies or bottled/ packaged baby food,
ohhh and do take very high factor suncream its expensive and difficult to get high factor there, it will be very hot when your going, but its a fun place enjoy it

i have been there with my wife and our little 8 months girl stayed for 2 weeks. i have found all the babies stuff in the shops and supermarkets... its all available. my advice to you is to bring a limited stuff for your kinds at least for the first couple of days until you will be familiar with the area, shops, supermarkets. etc
(as i did) you know the babies..

every thing should be available
but u should have the miimum for one or two days because u do not know how far is yr hotel from the markets

most hotels have a chemist near by or an on site shop. may cost you though.
