I need help, I am having a sweet sixteen, later this month, and I am hiring a DJ, and I don't know what else to do? I want to have a theme, but I can't really do it, 'cause I don't have a lot of money. What should I do? I am going to have 50+ people attending my party, and it'll be outside in my backyard, 'cause it's pretty big, and also, has a stage. any suggestions?

You'll have a great time! Just ask some of your closer friends over to brainstorm some ideas on theme and decorating. I'm sure you'll come up with ideas. They'll probably enjoy the involvement too. Streamers and balloons are pretty cheap to decorate with. Especially if you get them at a dollar store. They usually sell pinatas there too, which you can fill with more dollar store stuff. Maybe your friends can help by contributing to the party- like bringing snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and things. Good luck & Happy Birthday!

You may want to watch MTV's "Super Sweet 16" to steal some of their ideas on themes and what they had. Granted I'm assuming that you don't have that much money as some of those individuals have.

Have a Hawaiian themed outdoor party or one of those Tiki themes.

the theme should be outdoor sooo 1916! have music and if you wanted to you could ask a famous band to play at your stage (with out paying them)!

what about an island theme since it's outdoors? you can kick off the summer and it's inexpensive. get a bonfire going, some tiki items, lei's, etc. can you borrow a surf board? use your imagination. fruitty drinks, bbq, torches. etc

it depends where you live.
you could have a mini bon fire and/ or jaccuzzi party.
that is always funn.
