I'm a registered Democrat but with a moderate libertarian ideology and I do think it's a shame that Pelosi defended Jefferson. Good for you, I know it must be hard to send your message and expect the rest of us to be like dogs and eat you up (believe me I totally understand this) butI think any person who's in politics, whether Democrat, Republican, third party or independent or moderate, liberal or conservative, should have the decency to be clean. Pelosi has proven to be more dangerous than I thought.

If Pelosi has actually defended Jefferson, then I missed it. What really happened with Bill Jefferson is simple enough. She removed him from all committees until the courts could deal with the issues involved. Then the Black Democratic Caucus had a fit over it. They maintained that Jefferson should be restored to committee status since he was innocent until proven guilty and that he was being unfairly censored. They were like a dog with a bone about it and the Democrats had to capitulate due to the Black Caucus' influence and loud protestations. Pelosi makes the appointments, so she was the one to put him on Homeland Security because of his complaints about Katrina. But I don't think he'll be the most popular kid on the block. Pelsoi didn't like it and most Democrats will keep their distance from him, it's like he's carrying the plague. So blame Pelosi if you will, but she did what politicians often have to do, which is make deals to get the votes for important issues on the table. They need the Black Caucus votes and they were holding those votes hostage. That's the story, take from it what you will. I don't really disagree, I think it sends the wrong message, but I understand how it happened - not that that makes it any better.

regularly occurring lib rhetoric! They *continually* have "common sense" solutions to *each little thing* even as the Republicans have maximum people; yet they right now overlook what they suggested when they get in place of work and want all and sundry else has forgotten, too! today, the Feds *and* the States *each and each* make extra funds off each gallon of gas than the executives and the stockholders do; then the governments turn round and tax the income of the executives and stockholders!

I am a conservative and I agree with you,and thanks for having the courage to stand up to what you believe in.Just like some of us thought Foley and other undesirables are a disgrace.Jefferson was caught with the cash and can't explain it?Thanks again for standing up to this issue, when she said she wanted to end the corruption,it seems shes bringing more attention to those who are suspected of not having a "clean" background.

What happened to Pelosi's ethical congress? It is disintegrating every day with every move she makes.
