I feel good that I have good feelings for people that I love, I believe of my self to be decided, courageous, and persistent in the things that I do. This is why it makes me wonder how something seemly simple it is getting stuck in my throat. I hear a lot of people that they say a lot thing they don’t really feel but they know those things sound good and make them look like they are nice guys.

Could be fear. Becoz u hold the word 'love' on such high ground (and it IS on the highest ground) that's why u r hesitant, because it's a major thing.

Plus once u jump in, there really shouldn't be any turning back. Love brings with it a responsibility. I hv seen guys not *ready* for that responsibility.

It's also because, professing our love for someone, puts us in a very vulnerable position. And people who are inherently not that emotional or hv a lil ego, or many guys in general, don't want to be in that position.

It could be that u come from a family background that's more reserved when it comes to expressing love.

All in all, it's good you are a thinker, and are cautious enough to want to mean what you say. I rather have that kind of man, than a man who says something and not mean it.

Probably fear of rejection or being unsure if the other person feels the same way..you say you're courageous but it's not shown in your actions. perhaps love was not openly expressed in your upbringing.Practice on your relatives by telling them you love them as often as you can without overdoing it. before you end a call say "i love you",soon it will be easier and you will feel better. The more love you express openly the more love you have inside you,and you can actually feel it. Its like a burden has been lifted from you, you'll have a new found freedom and others will respond in a positive way because love is infectious.

Could be a couple of things; first, it's about risk. When you say you love/like/admire someone, you may feel you are exposing your true self, and that means you could feel pain if your feelings are rejected. What everyone (including myself) needs to learn is that saying something good to someone is really being true to yourself and your feelings. If they don't return the feeling, we shouldn't feel rejected, because we have been honest. Big talker, right? I'm still working on it. The trick is to not say things if you don't mean them. That just makes you UN-true to yourself and your feelings. You wanna go through life a liar and a poser? Just flatter people falsely. You'll hate yourself. So, a nice little pickle isn't it? But one thing I know is true, to tell someone something good if it is your true feeling is a wonderful thing to do, not so much for them, but for yourself.

love is a wonderful feeling inside ur heart but to express it sometimes very hard
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

I think maybe it's because showing feelings of any kind, especially tender feelings, can make a person feel vulnerable or exposed.

Also, if you love someone, and they know that you love them, they also know how MUCH they've hurt you, if in fact they ever do hurt you badly.

Well, get over it. Life is too short not to tell the people that you love that you do. Nobody will put you down for expressing it. Matter of fact, they will really love it.

Fear. Fear of committment, fear of rejection, etc. I wish more people, esp. men would come out with their loving feelings. It's wonderful when they do, as long as it's sincere.

Fear of rejection, humiliation, or not receiving love back. For some, it could also stem from childhood abuse or any other previous abuse.
