It depends on what kind of bacteria you're trying to grow. There is a growth temperature associated with each type of bacteria.

First, you need to know what particular strain or type of bacteria you want to grow because each has its own "ideal environment". But in general, most bacteria grow best in an incubbator (warm environment) and on agar, blood agar, or tissue cultures.
