During a debate with then-Vice President Al Gore on Oct. 11, 2000, in Winston-Salem, N.C., Bush said: "I don't think our troops ought to be used for what's called nation-building. . . . I think what we need to do is convince people who live in the lands they live in to build the nations. Maybe I'm missing something here. I mean, we're going to have a kind of nation-building corps from America? Absolutely not."

No, but you can't see that.
You must still be upset because independent companies counted the hanging chads and Bush still won.
Or are you upset because a majority still voted for Bush in 2004.

Nope, You are blinded by hate.

Nothing good is gonna happen when you libs force us out of Iraq and Iran takes it over and doubles the amount of oil those lunatics control. Bush probably didn't intend to have to build a nation in 2000 before 9-11 or Saddam's threats.

Well, if you open your mind and allow for the fact that the nation-building in Iraq and Afghanistan is a follow-on consequence of a war, and as such, is all part of one action, then you would readily see that as very different from strict nation-building exercises like in the Balkans and Haiti.

Of course, expecting open minds from anti-bushies is like expecting a troop of trumpet-playing gorillas to fly out my butt.

What he meant to say was absolutely not, maybe. Bush does not lie, if you don't believe me just as any of the 28% or less that still support him. Of course they will have to ask Rush Limbaugh to give you a definitive answer.

Edit: Oh and Rush doesn't lie either, just ask any of the ditto heads that listen and as a matter of fact, hang on every single word that this drug addicted idiot has to say.

Seems like he is living up to his word. We have troups there, but that is not a "nation-building corps". Nation-building involves consensus, not sectarian splits; rule of law, not chaos; jobs, not joblessness; infrastructure, not power outages most of the day. Also, peace is important, and the troups are attempting to achieve that. Too bad they can't identify who the enemy is, but have to wait for them to attack.

So just what are you going to do to occupy yourself when Bush is out of office in two years? Who are you going to obsess with then?

You seriously need a hobby.
