I used to play basketball and then I stopped and my knee was killing me. So, I went to my primary care doctor and he said that it was just the muscle on top of my knee wasn't as strong anymore... so i went to my cousin who is a personal trainer and we built the muscle so everything was strong. the pain never went away and i have never injured my knee (that i can think of). this was like back in september i think. any ideas on what might be wrong with me knee?
Thanks!

I have something called patellafemoral malalighnment syndrome and i have similar symptoms, go to an orthopediest , I never injured mine either, i don't know how old you are, but I'm 14 and my doctor said that when you grow sometimes your knee cap gets pushed to the side and rubs on the muscle, weekening it and rubbing it away, causing the pain, so I suggest going to an orthopediest and getting it looked at, feel free to email me if you need to

P.S. wear a knee brace a simple one from the pharmacy works, it helps me a lot

Go back to the doctor and show him your knee again. If needed, get some tests done. In the meantime, try Rescue Remedy a bach flower essence mixture which is reputed to be a good choice for such problems.

A couple of my family members have knee pain and the doctors can't find anything wrong with them. They just use heat to make it go away.. heating pad or maybe a heat wrap might help you out too. I swear it has something to do with up and downs of barometric pressure but its not arthritis they have checked for that countless times.
