At one time, I would have thought so. I always admired him. But his complicity in the Iraq invasion and his silence later on proves him to be just another lacky. He was a respected man, and admired General with a distinguished career. If he had spoken out against the Iraq war, let the public know, let Congress know what Bush, Rummie and the rest were doing and HAD done, his reputation would still be intact - and he would be considered a great Patriot.
By his silence, he is just a guilty as the rest and must share in our countrys shame at what is happening in Iraq...
He, and others who sit in silence, are cowards.

I think of all the repuglicans Colin Powell is probably the most honest, maybe that is one of the reasons why he doesn't want to run for the presidency. I think he was duped along with congress into believing there were WMD's in Iraq. I also think that is why he left the administration at the end of the first term. Honesty is hard to find in the repuglican party.

I really admire Colin Powell, and think he would of made a good president. He's a black man that's never blamed his problems on white people, and worked hard for everything he's accomplished. He never used being black, or a minority as a stepping stone to achieve his success. He should be a role model. Jesse Jackson, and others like him should take a lesson from Colin Powell.

Colin Powell would be a good president for the exact reason he isn't president, he did not and does not want to be.

No. Considering that he WAS involved with the second Iraq War, not to mention the first, I see no reason to disassociate him from that. Moreover, wasn't he involved with attempting to cover up the Mai Lai massacre during the Vietnam War?

i, too, was very intrigued with him...until he worked for bush, and, sadly, lost his credibility with whole wmd thing...it's too bad...did he ever come out and say he was misled about the wmd he testified about at the u.n.? if not, why not?

I could have supported him at the time, but I'd be more likely to do so now that I know he isn't a republican shill.
