First, you need, web page editor, Flash Player (www.adobe.com), Runtime Environment like Java (www.java.com). There's much of web page editor on the net. Download the free and powerful one, for example, Evrsoft First Page. If you learn the basic, you can use "Notepad" as HTML editor. For further guide, visit www.w3schools.com

Next, create and compile your website. Use all available tools and add-ins.

Then, find web hosting. There's much web hosting over the net. Each offer with special features. Find one that really fulfill your desire. If able, find free web hosting which give lots of space and free address customization like "www.mywebsite.com"

After that, register and upload your website over the internet.

There are many websites that will host a web page for you, most of the time they don't charge you for the basic web page.

If you want to create your own, full fledged website, there's a couple options.

If you know binary code, HTML, or JAVA you can make your own from scratch. This can be difficult even if you know what you're doing.

If you make own on your own you have to pay for the server. Yahoo act as a server for your website, they even have to tools you need to make your own without having the server website as part of your site's URL. If you're willing to pay, then it works for standard site.

AngelFire offers website hosting for free. It doesn't have that much memory, but it's enough for a standard site.

Freewebs can do the same thing and it's easier than AngleFire, though not as dynamic.

Invsionfree offers message board hosting, really easy and basic to use.

There are actually lots of fre software out there. If you get a Yahoo webhosting account you can use Yahoo's Website Builder to make one. It's really easy to use. You can also use Frontpage or even Word. Search for HTML on the web. First you need to learn all the code. Best to learn code first. Then when you use software that does it for you and something doesn't work ight you can trouble shoot it. I use a program called Web Page Creator I downloaded years ago and learned my code that way. I also use Yahoo's SiteBuilder for quicker pages. Great thing about it, when you make a change it updates everything at once. Very handy.

If this is your first website, I would recommend not spending a dime and use Google's Page creator. Simply sign up for an account and get started.

Once you get familiar with how page creator works you can start to make money by putting un-obtrusive ads on your site. For this use Google Ad Words.

Once you get serious and if Page creator has a good enough interface for you sign up for Google Aps for your domain www.google.com/a. Here you can get a domain for $10 for a year and have a bunch of other goodies. If you would like to check out a Page creator site, check this one out.
