We must be for all of the things we let our government get away with

Americans pretty much are not though they should be. I would say they are too trusting in their government. Our rights have been taken away from us slowly over time. It is moreso the government has us afraid of the world and small possibilities to keep us blindly following rather than asking questions that need to be addressed.

They will continue to deceive the people until we have no rights left at all. Then there will be no choice but to fear government because free speech could cost you your life in the times coming.

I think Americans are afraid of the government screwing up because they have seen what other countries are going through right now and they don't want to end up like them.

Americans are afraid of changing their standard of living.

Americans are too stupid to be afraid of anything. It's part of our charm. By the time we figure out Bush and Cheney are murdering liars, we will already have a new Presidnent and Vice President, and Iran will be a smoking hole in the Middle East.

DEFINITELY! Our "government" (more like the junta!) has made it abundantly clear that we SHOULD be afraid, when anyone who criticizes Bush is either cordoned into a "free speech" zone, or even arrested, when people who fit a "profile", based on ethnic origin, a facial recognition profile or flag words in their illegally stolen e-mails, are hauled off to prison, with no charges & no legal representation (indefinitely!). Yeah, I see and hear EVERYWHERE, people who want to protest and get back the REAL democracy we once had, but are too frightened to do anything!

We thought Nixon was bad? He was, but the Bush-Cheney-Rovocracy is SO much worse! Dems winning back the gov't in 2008 will only be a start to repairing all the damage to our Freedom!

Even the people who declare to be frightened of the authorities do not look to imagine there is any possibility in making up and spreading all forms of inflammatory rumors. So i'd say that people are truly no longer afraid of their authorities. ?°)

I am afraid of the lack of privacy we get. The government knows everything about each one of us.

It is in your best interest to be afraid of them. It may considerably lengthen your lifespan, keep you from experiencing torture firsthand, becoming un unwitting experimental subject, &\or keep you out of some hidden 3rd world prison system.

I am. Our govt makes too many decisions without the American citizens having input. Elected officials are to represent the people and as soon as they are elected, they seem to forget us, the voters. And our govt is trying to control that planet.
