Should I be tolerant and understanding or should I tell my boss?

Straight people are entitled to the same rights as gays and that includes employment without fear of discrimination. As long as the guy does his job, then that is all that matters. Of course, if he's been hired for an interior design firm, then there might be a problem. If he turns out to be artistically challenged, then hopefully he can at least be able to lift heavy things.

We gays have had it so good for such a long time that I think it's important to allow straights, regardless of how distasteful we might find their "lifestyle", the opportunity to be on par with us.

Be tolerant, especially if he (or she) is in the closet. As long as he/she can do the job, that's what matters. Don't make it into an issue unless it interferes with work or causes problems in the workplace. Besides, what if you're wrong? Just because someone goes to a straight bar (for example) that doesn't mean they're straight. Or it could be that they're experimenting. Better to let sleeping dogs lie.

He should be fired. After all, you can fire gays for their sexual orientation. So, check your local state's discrimination status, and if it doesn't include sexual orientation - then let him go.

You would think that people who are discriminated against would be smart enough not to discriminate back.
