Off to barcelona for next weekend, what should be on my list of things to do/see? I don't mind doing cheesey tourist stuff. Oh and what's the best way to get to the city centre from the airport. Mucho gracias amigos.

Hi I came back from Barcelona about 5 weeks ago, I did a parachute jump. It was great, I found this site www.lifestylebarcelona.com. The stuff they do is a little different than the typical touristy stuff.
I can also reccommend a site call bcn-nightlife.com for some fun nightime things to do.
Other wise just chill, Bcn is a great city and even if you are chilling you are bound to see and hear some really cool stuff.

Stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. Take a taxi from the airport to the city centre - they are cheap, reliable, efficient and plentiful. Costs about 20 Euros.
LAS RAMBLAS - vibrant and colourful central street with so much going on, morning, noon and night.
PORT VELL - Buzzing harbour area with plenty to do. Excellent for shopping. Great for strolls at night. Be sure to have lunch here on Sunday.
OLYMPIC VILLAGE - New, modern development of hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants, going up from the Port Vell.
BARCELONETA - Quaint and charming fishing village with excellent seafood restaurants.
SAGRADA FAMILLIA - Barcelona's mascot, Outstanding 'modernisme' church and lovely area to visit, especially on a Sunday morning.
EXIEMPLE - New town development just about the old town area and near to Sagrada Famillia. Home to many bizarre and intriguing buildings. Also good for shopping.
BARRI GOTIC/EL BORN/LA RIBERA - Characterful Old Town area near to Las Ramblas with lots of boutiques and restaurants. Home to la Seu Cathedral and lovely at night when everywhere is lit up.
EL CORTE INGLES - Located on Placa Catalunya at the top of las Ramblas. Comprehensive department store with wonderful self-service restaurant on top floor with 360 degree views.
MONTJUIC - Hill W of centre, home to Olympic area and some interesting developments.
CABLE CAR - Runs from barceloneta to Montjuic over the harbour. A Barcelona must. Fun.
PARC GUELL - Quirky urban park of surreal sculptures and buildings, located on northern outskirts.
GRACIA, HORTA - Characterful residential areas with character.
NOU CAMP STADIUM - Home to FC Barcelona. Do a stadium tour if you like football.
TIBIDABO - Funfair and church, perched on top of a 550m high hill with splendid views.
Take your pick from these, but Barcelona really does have something for everyone. Here you have a mix of cheesy tourist stuff and attractions with character. Barcelona is a one-of-a-kind place with a really distinctive personality. You will have a great time there.
