Since Beardies are omnivores, they eat both live foods, and veggies and fruits.
Vegetables that you can offer included greens (turnip, kale, romaine, dandelion, endive, escarole, mustard, and collard), green beans, squash, peas, sweet potato, chicory, watercress, red bell pepper, and cilantro.
Fruits can be offered about 1-2 time a week (too much can cause diarrhea) such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, cantaloupe, mango, kiwi, and grapes.

Some veggies i feed mine are romaine, dandelion, endive, and collardbeans, squash, peas, sweet potato, red bell pepper...avoid iceburg lettuce!!! they LOVE the romaine and dandelion !!fruits should only be given twice a week or else you shall end up with explosive diarhea that will lead to dehydration. ill feed mine strawberries, cantaloupe and grapes. also try some bearded dragon pellets, as long as he's getting every vitamin and mineral he'll be okay, he can not just eat live food.. also try putting a calcium or vitamin supplament in their water with a liquid formula or a powedered one on their crickets. oh and the thing about some petstore is that they do not know everything. before we get new reptiles, fish, or animals at my store we have training session on how to take care of it....other places, well, dont.

if you have a finicky dragon you can feed them baby food. mine love it. also they like the baby fruit too. there are no additives etc. with baby food. also to help with greens chop it up very fine and mix it in with the mealworms when they go to grab a mealworm they cannot help but get some greens with it. you can also mix the chopped up greens in their favorite baby food. as far as spinach is concerned there are various thoughts on this. while spinach has calcium in it, it also contains oxalates, which can bind with the calcium in the gastrointestinal tract of a herp. Unless you are feeding it nothing but spinach, there is no problem with feeding it to her. In a varied diet, spinach can be a good part of that diet. Spinach is an excellent source of beta-carotene, a good source of protein and calcium. The oxalates should not be a problem when spinach is offered as a portion of the diet.

How old is he? I have read that they eat more vegetables as they get older. I hand feed my dragon crickets and worms. After I established his trust, I fed him some leafy greens. I think they were mustard. Try hand feeding him a small piece. Variety is the key. Good luck.

ive got a couple of beardies i feed mine those frozen vegies (from the supermarket) the ones with peas, corn, carrot & beans in it. i defrost them then if they are a little big (coz i have babies as well as adults) i chop them up into smaller peices then get some of those cat food singles n chop that up (the wet food, not the dry) i put some calcium & vitamin powder in it N with the babies i put some mealworms in the bowl as well. remember though if u put mealworms in with the bigger beardies to ALWAYS take the head off (the worm i mean) coz the adults might swallow them whole n the worms can eat out their stomach (better to be safe than sorry)
i hope i was of some help!!

leafy greens such as escarole, dandelions, endive, mustard, and collards, NO lettuces or spinach! They aren't good for him.
hard mixed veggies such as an orange flesh squash the harder the better(acorn,pumpkin,butternut... fresh green beans, fresh peas, parsnip, and green bell peppers, NO broccoli or cauliflower, or avocado!
fruit such as figs, papaya, mango, pear, and berries.
crickets, pinky mice(when they're adults), silkworms, earthworms, etc.

How old is your beardie? Younger beardies prefer and need more protein, therefore they will eat more insects. Mature beardies need less protein so they will eat more veggies and less insects. If your beardie is still young, offer him greens but don't worry if he doesn't eat them. He will start eating greens as he matures.
