Prostitution already exists where it is not legal, and there are places where it IS completely legal. Not to mention that sex is basically "free" among the younger crowd these days. It has not stopped rape, child porn, child molestation, or any other sex crime. Sex crimes are nothing about having access to sex...its usually about power over the victim.

The only thing that would happen if prostitution was legal would be that there would be no people arrested for dealing in or with prostitution. So prostitutes would not have to worry nor would the men who seek prostitutes have to worry about being arrested.

Probably. It is the oldest profession on the planet and accepted almost everywhere but here. If we regulated it, and people where tested and safe sex was a must, it could be a good source of revenue for our baby boomer medical crisis that is going to hit in the next 15 years.
If we taxed prostitution to the tune of 25%, we would generate over 50 billion the first year for programs like healthcare and education.

Maybe a small amount.

Rape is about control and power usually.

But I can't see how it would have no affect at all, because a prostitute yields a portion of the control and power in exchange for money...

Not a chance!

Rape is when someone wants power over a person. It has nothing to do with "sex." Prostitutes are just selling themselves for money.

absolutely not, because there is no challenge to the man in a prostitute, she's willingly doing it, these guys that prey on women like the fear it gives the women and the sexual pleasure it gives the man knowing he took it against will,

If it were legalized and regulated, I do think we'd have less problems with underage prostitution. In Nevada, where it's been legalized, law enforcement hasn't found even one underage prostitute.

Rape is a crime of violence, not sex. Other sexual offenses are driven by the need to feel powerful....
