Golly, how can he straighten this out??? Easy. Pay his back child support. Then, they won't hound him to pay. And,. before you get outraged, the fact is that he made kids, and those kids need food and shelter. Your boyfriend cared more about himself and his high times, than he cared about his kids. Sooo, now he will have to live on very little, until he takes care of his debt for his kids. His kids already have suffered because their Dad neglected them, so I have zero sympathy for Daddy. Also, they don't just take a license. They try numerous times to collect, but when that doesn't work, they take a license. So, your BF had plenty of warnings, he just chose to continue neglecting his children. Why would you have ANYTHING to do with a male worm, a worm that doesn't support his kids? Do you think it's OK for all men to neglect their kids, or is it just OK for your BF?

He will have to go through the court system, some States put them on programs, they do not like to easily give back driving privileges, the person usually has to prove that he is responsible to have it back; here in Michigan there are a series of test sometimes classes if you cannot pass the initial test which asks you about your reasons for drinking and why ,when, whether you like to drink alone or prefer to be with friends etc. so when and if you make it through the hoops and pay the court fines , then you may be able to re-apply with the State,

He lost his license because he violated a court order to pay support. He has to prove to the satisfaction of the court that he has fulfilled his duty to pay back any arrearages on the support order. Then he can get the suspension lifted and he must also pay his support on time moving forward.

He really should see a local family law attorney about this to learn the exact procedure for your state.

Not having a license is not keeping him from getting and keeping work. Being a drug addict bad father is giving him a hard time getting and keep work. The lost license is a consequence of his actions, not a cause of his actions.

Tell him to call the driver's license office and ask them what to do.

He had a choice to either pay his child support or not...obviously he chose not to. Yes it is making him have a hard time getting and keeping work...Not many employers want to hire people who don't take responsiblity for themselves. His child support is going to have to be brought up to current and he is going to have to continue payments until he is no longer liable for support of HIS children.

He needs to go talk to the guy who reinstates licenses at the dmv. he will pay a reinstatement fee with a fine for having it taken away. then they will reinstate his license and he will be able to drive again.

go to the local secretary of state...he will have to pay fines and register for re-instatement ..and most likely will have to show proof of successful completion of a drug rehab program...tell him to go to the nearest twelve step program ...there are a lot of men just like him there and they can help guide him in the right direction..and DON'T DO IT FOR HIM!!!!!!!!!

well its good he cleaned up. but to get it back he'll have to pay a big chunk of it back, then call for a hearing to reissue his license back.

til then, you'll have to drive him.
