I'm going to Hope School soon because I'm not coping in mainstream although I am said to be highly intelligent.
I have just come back from Tara and the social worker at my current school says that the people at Tara have found me out to be slightly autistic.
When I ask my mother questions about why I am going to hope school, she just says that they want me to go there but she doesn't say why.
Am I going there because the professionals at Tara believe me to be slightly autistic?
I don't know what the case is and I'm very confused.
I don't think I have this fancy disorder. I think I'm normal.

There's no way to give you a clear answer. It would help if you identified "Tara" and "Hope School" more clearly--those names both get multiple hits on the Internet, so I cant figure out exactly who you're talking about.

But--first, don't be upset if it turns out you have a mild disability--about 1 in 6 people do--and it certainly doesn't mean you should try to avoid facing it. It simply means you'll need to do things a bit differently than most people. But it''s no more than that--look at Stephan Hawking. He has a SERIOUS disability--but it hasn't stoppped him from becoming the greatest living physicist in the world.

I will say this--I usually don't like to sound like I'm criticizing parents--but you do have a gripe. Your mother should sit down with you and explain what's going on. This is not a situation in which "because I said so" is a good enough answer.

No idea why they want you to go to this new school. If your mom doesn't know tell her you want answers before you are shipped off again. How aren't you coping well in the mainstream system?
