Well I'm not sure if you strickly mean a band or just an artist, but assuming you do, I'd say Frank Zappa and the Mothers Of invention, classic, funny, great musicianship, timeless, and just great overall material...plus Zappa is one of the single coolest humans to ever live R.I.P.
