I strained my shoulder weight training. Not too bad just sore. I quit smoking so I went to the gym every day but did too much. Shall I put ice on it then Deep Heat, then Ice again??

heat for ache ice for pain, also take an anti inflamitory like alieve. you can also get some bengay.

You should apply ice on your shoulder. You can also apply anti-inflammatory cream such as feldene gel on the sore.
If the pain persists, you should see a physiotherapist who will massage your shoulder and teach you exercises to heal your shoulder.

I use absorbing Jr. it soaks in and gives relief, alternating hot and cold also works well, perhaps an aspirin and try not to over do it until it feels better, good luck.
