If you feel abandoned then look at yourself - did they go or did you let them go -- friends are relationships to be worked on give and take.

If you really felt like there was the potential for friendship (real) then try again slow and steady, but you will have to do a lot of the running to begin, if you don't feel you should then they were not worth the time anyway.... there are lots of people out there looking for company and good friends..

Good Luck don't be lonely be adventurous!!!

If they've abandoned you maybe they're not the friends you thought they were. Perhaps it's time to move on and find new friends, but before you do, ask yourself why they seem to have abandoned you, or is it just a natural order of things like marriage, family, or moving away.

Friends are not friends if they make you feel bad.

Make new friends, its easier said than done sometimes especially if you still want to be mates with them but in the long run you will be happier and possibly a better person if you move on.

Dust yourself off and try again.

By being & remaining a true friend to them. Sometimes people do change but it's also likely that you might be oversensitive when they are just preoccupied with whatever, stopping them being their normal selves. Continue to be their friend, showing consideration & understanding. If you really can't win them back, then I 'd say it's their loss.

Quit being a spectator...get in the game ...are you just sitting around waiting for people to come to you? If you are their friend call them don't wait for some special invitation...

Give it time. Its better to make new friends while your "main friends" are out of action.

Its not an entire loss when you have new friends to get along with.
