I used to play badminton and now I switched to tennis. My technique to inprove footwork is to jump and jog lots, to increase agility. Then you also have to always be ready to hit the ball by predicting which direction it would hit, so you won't be delayed. Use your eyes to observe how your opponent hits the ball and predict the possible direction of the ball. It needs a lot of practice. Good luck! :)

What your coach is doing. It has to be learnt while your are playing the game.No body can teach how the ball will come ,how to hit it. only the coach will give you the training hoe to play the game.It is all purely developed in the ground. Some sort of exercise you can take before you go to play.thereby you can stretch you legs for good footwork.
