I am a very shy person too! I absolutely hate it when people say "stop being shy"... thats like me telling them "stop being a brunette".... I think some people see shyness as a very negative thing like they hide something but in reality shyness is just that.. Shyness!!
*hugs* ♥

Hi, I know where you are coming from, But I tell you now if i was in a room with people and most of them where loud and happy and giddy and then there was one person sat there quite I would go over to the person who was sat quiet and start a conversation with that person and not really speak to the other people. As at the end of the day people like that just usually stabb you in the back the second you are out of the room, yet the most quiets person you can usually get on well with and become friends. Im shy myself especially around loud over confident types. But even though i am shy i would still go and speak to the quiet person as we are in the same boat as that person.
I have come to learn that being shy gets you no where, noone is going to turn round and tell you to get lost if you ask them a question or start a conversation. Even if its about nothing.
Say you go into a room of new people, I bet you tend to find a seat at the back and say nothing. Why not go into the room weather you know a person or not go and sit next to them and then just ask them a few questions about whatever it is you or whoever they are meeting. For example if i was at school and i started a new class, I would walkinto the room and find a seat, then i would say to the person next to me. Its freezing or its too hot, the i would say what are we ment to be doing or something like that. Sometime you will make the effort and you wont get muich out of a person but at least you tried.
But remember there is no need to be shy as everyone is the same as you and the arent perfect even if you get nervous and forget what to say, just pretend there like your brother or sister or even yor mum and dad. You will get the hang of it .

It is difficult for shy people to make friends, but probably easier through work or clubs where you have something in common, then others have a chance and time to get to know you, and you feel more confident yourself.
It's unfortunate too, that people often misinterpret shyness as being aloof, snobby or rude, and don't bother to get to know the real you.
Taking the first step to overcome shyness is the hardest

Most shy people are very hard to talk to. You don't open up to many people and it makes it hard to get to know you. Try trusting people a little more and worrying less about what they think about you. You will find that you will get to know more people and make more friends by opening up to them.

sometimes shy people are the real sly ones. but if your not sly just introduce your self to somenone and find some common ground with that person. but in the mean time just worry about other things that need to be done
