Basically I bought a laptop, it worked for a week and has now died, I paid via paypal but paypal put the money on hold for some reason or another "High Risk" apparantly.

Anyway the seller threaten me with court/Police etc so I sent a cheque, so I have paid for an item twice.

I told the seller this about in not working he says he will not refund me as it was working. But I think I have him, I checked his feedback and theres feedback on there from a seller, I look at the item and low and behold its my laptop being sold as faulty, and what is the fault? Screen not working which is what is wrong with mine, So its the exact same laptop. Paypal are reversing the Paypal funds but what can I do about the cheque? Surely this is fraud? And I should add the seller is a business,

Collect all the information you have, especially if you can definately prove it is the same laptop (are you definately sure?).

Make contact witht the person who made the original complaint in feedback and them to confirm (in writing), so you have independent evidence that a faulty item has been resold.

The item you bought is not fit for purpose. So, take out a court order and sue.

Stop the cheque at once at your bank, and let the guy do his worse, I feel he will not go any further if he does see what a Judge has to say to this rouge.

Cancel the check ASAP! And make sure to leave negative feedback for this person, so someone else won't be ripped off by them too.
