does anyone know how to make an autograph stay in the sweatshirt?
cause I have a Sweatshirt that was signed by some pcb bullriders and I want to wash the shirt but i don't know what to do?
it was signed with sharpy permanent markers but i'm sure they will fade with washing.
and I really don't want that to happen.
I would really really appreciate your help.

They should have used a rub-a-dub laundry marker. Those won't fade.

I know that with dyes, you can soak the garment in 1/4 cup vinegar + 1 gallon of water for 20 minutes, then wash it inside out so it won't scrape on the agitator. Use a detergent that's meant for colors, and nothing that says "heavy duty" or "powerful" on the label because those soaps are meant to take out ink stains. You would only have to do the vinegar soak once. Good luck!

Depending on the autographs, don't you think it is about time to put the sweatshirt up in a case for display only.....

Being that you have a one of a kind collectible it is worth a considerable amount of money.......

have it Dry-Cleaned..other than that....cold water will preserve for a while...you could always have it 'framed' and use it as a wall-hanging....as long as you choose to continue utilizing the sweatshirt as an 'article of wearable clothing', you're going to need to launder it....Evaluate the importance of the autograph...You can Photo the autograph and preserve it; preserve the clothing article itself; or preserve the MEMORY of the autograph and just wear the clothes you love and enjoy!

Why don't you buy a Dry cleaning kit at the supermarket, this way no water is penetrating the sweatshirt. and you can always use the kit, for another time when needed.
