Personally, I'm not. I could really care less if you call me a f*g. Just don't be surprised if I come back with something equally offensive (some of which can't be posted here). Why does everyone assume that all gays want everyone to walk on eggshells around them?

Bubba ... that's not true. I don't know a single gay person that rings the alarm when someone calls them names. They shrug it off ... because believe it or not, we already know we're gay.

Personally, I feel like all this political correctness only serves to isolate gays and other minorities even further. Wake up, people!

Beernotcider - Political correctness is when you tiptoe around saying what you really feel because you think it will offend someone.

I don't know. But I don't walk on eggshells around anybody. While I would never intentionally hurt someones feelings, I don't go out of my way to be Politically Correct. I do think the PC people have gone totally over the edge.

I am with an industry that has the highest rate of Homosexuals/ Gays. I don't care what's done in the right place, at the right time. As with any proper conduct, there is a flip side to the coin. One of my closest associates (who was gay), and I use to read cosmopolitan magazines together, he was a riot to talk to. He moved to a major city, and then died of aids.

Why do you assume other people walk on eggshells? I know you don't want to hear this, but it sounds like you have the issue problem right now. You must be new.

I'm not politically correct. I call myself a f*ggot all the time. I don't mind if a friend calls me that jokingly or if I hear someone say something like "That's so gay." I think the idea that we need people to be so careful around us gives people fuel to use against the gay rights movement. At the same time, it's obviously different if a couple guys in a pickup truck speed by me flipping me off an yelling "f*cking f*ggot!" because of the rainbow sticker on my car. But, as intelligent people, we and other people can and should be able to tell the difference between things like that, and people who don't intend prejudice in their language.

Personally, I agree, I could care less, but then I do have the advantage of being able to appear intimidating if I need to so it helps. But as you say, I could care less. What I DO find funny though, is how so many basher types, like bubbah, actually think we care. They don't get it. If I respond to being called a name, it's because I choose to educate and not simply tolerate. If you want to p.iss me off, that's fine, just understand that there are consequences to insulting someone. Sometimes it's a simple shrug or it could be a kick in the teeth. Bottom line, you have the right to say what you want, I have the right to respond in turn.

That's interesting.

I just assumed you had to "watch what you say" if you knew someone in a group might be gay.

I can appreciate your comments. So few people nowadays can look you in the eye and stick up for themselves. They go running to someone else to do something about a problem an alleged perpetrator had no knowledge of.

Couldn't care less what people say offensively towards me. I just keep my opinions to myself, or voice them in a more acceptable way because I usually end up in trouble when I voice how I believe.

Nope.
I don't call people offensive names but I do tell it the way I see it.
And some people are offended by my mere presence because I am not what they think I should be.

Nope! I'm a 100% Politically Incorrect S.O.B! But I don't say things just to offend people.

NO! everybody has the right to be treated with respect. Of course i don't like derogatory name calling.

But I'm not politically correct about everything. For instance, i think Islam is a real threat to western civilization.

What is political correctness ?
If acting like a politician, ie , lieing, cheating stealing, is correct, then this world is in one big heap of trouble.
