If your just driving in city traffic, say not going over 35-40 mph, or towing a trailer its best to turn o/d off because when your trans shifts into o/d it will lug the engine causing it to burn more fuel. When driving on the highway or at speeds over 40mph its best to leave o/d on to keep rpm's down which should help you fuel milage. Hope this helps.

put the car in overdrive, it's basiccaly the top gear in your car. If you leave it in Drive instead, it won't do any damage to the vehicle, but it WILL hurt your fuel mileage. So just put it in OD and you'll be much happier with the results
