The only thing that concerns me is global warming that is going to have an impact on the next generation more then mine the only thing that I can do is to do my best on doing my share of preventing a disaster from happening but alone I cannot accomplish much !

Your question depends on whether history is cyclical and thus repeating and repeating ... ad infinitum; or is history linear and the culmination of preceding events that we or a supreme being can change. That assumes a lot. I guess time will tell.
I try to be optimistic as the alternative is to be negative, and that really cannot improve things. Some times it's harder to be optimistic than negative, but I guess people are as happy as they want to be; if they are on the right meds.

In a way yes. In a way no.
We will repeat history in modern times, but unless you read about history you wont know that. World War 3 is coming whether you want it to or not. I believe this next war is about religion. I am afraid because I know what is coming. It will be horrifying. There won't be words to describe it. I am not afraid because God will come back and save His believers.

Our history shows a more and more economically divided world and an increasing ability to blow up the planet.

The ones with the power are more human but less tolerant to the needs of the lower; if there is ever a dramatic shift in world power there will be hell.

On the contrary, history gives us some clues to guess the likely future.... we are simply afraid of the future because of uncertainty.... the fear of the unknown.

I don't exist in the 'what-if' world...so, I don't speculate a lot on the future. We learn more from history. Never afraid to learn.
