If you wet your hair first and then put on the swim cap before you get in the water it will keep most of the chlorine out.

Pre-soak your hair in the shower then put on your swim cap then get in the water...

You could try wearing a swim cap. They look weird, but they actually make you swim faster when you don't have hair in the way and dragging you down. Also, for competitive swimming as a sport, they usually make you wear a swim cap anyways. If you get a really nice speedo swimcap with silicon on the outside and polyester and spandex on the inside, it won't tear your hair out when you pull the swim cap off. It also keeps your hair dry. When I come out of the pool, by looking at my hair, it doesn't even look like I went swimming.

As a swimmer myself i know just how much swimming can damage your hair. Chlorine can really dry out your hair and even make the colour fade so you just need to treat it appropriately by wearing a swimming cap, using decent shampoo and getting it cut frequently to sort out the ends.

You should really wear a swim cap if you're concerned about your hair. Swim caps will keep water out of your hair for the parts that aren't sticking out of it and your hair will stay in good shape, it's just that you'll need to wear your hair up or flat (I'm assuming you're a girl) so your hairstyle will probably be affected by wearing a swim cap for an extended period of time.

Your hair should be fine as long as you shampoo your hair right after your out of the pool. If you want to wear a swim cap it might help, but mine always falls off and ends up getting my hair wet anyway(and they're really ugly) So just shampoo and condition your hair with swimmers shampoo and your hair will be fine.

you can wear a bathing cap...many swimmers use them. The clorine will dry out your hair unless you shower immediately after swimming.

walmart, you can buy some anti-chlorine shampoos, they usually work pretty well, and make sure to condition it if your hair is fairly long... but you probly already know that
