Don't you hate that feeling? I once had a bad cold when I flew and my ears didn't unpop for days. What I did (accidentally) was to bend over so my head was almost upside down. Then hold your nose, keep your mouth shut and *gently* try to force air through your nose, but don't force it hard. Also try to yawn with your mouth wide open. That can help.

I pop my ears by taking a big yawn or swallowing hard while clenching your jaws.

Take a deep breath and hold it in...hold your nose...and blow 'out' gently through your (closed) nose.
