If you were wealthy you stood a chance to make it to a reasonable old age.
But Bess of Hardwick 1527-1608 managed .
She was married 4 which left her very wealthy.
She was shrewd business woman a contemporary of Elizabeth 1st,she was a woman of the bedchamber.
She managed to marry her daughter into the Lennox family,
[ this family produced Henry Darnley ,Mary Queen of Scots husband.
They produced Arabella Stuart who was a claimant to the throne.
She was a busy builder & rebiult Hardwick Hall '' More glass than wall'' & Chatsworth house still the home of the Dukes of Devonshire.
She was a busy woman all her life & blessed with good health for that period.
There were not many women that made it to her age.
