kevin (below) states "I'm glad you're honored but have you even noticed how many thumbs down you get? That alone should tell you something."

Is evidence of a conspiracy. I just have not learned to "Be afraid. Be very afraid"

It makes you an American..
During the Clinton years many people disliked big government, huge deficit, Clinton and company...that
did not make them conservatives..and I have noted
that those people basically don't like President
Bush either. People normally confuse the human
President with Santa Claus or God. Unfortunately
dissatisfaction is a very-American situation.

Actually, the conservative message has always been that the government is best that governs the least. This is not however the actual governing style of the successful conservative candidates. The Neo-cons want you to believe that the Liberals are out to hurt the very foundations of the government. The Liberals, unfortuantely shift the same blame back on the far right.
The Republican Party has taken a stance against social welfare programs and deficit spending, but has the longest consistent record of deficit creation and social welfare expansion. Since small government and balancing the budget do not seem to be occuring under the Conservative leadership, then, yes, such ideas must be liberal.

It doesn't make you a liberal. Only the people who can't come up with a reasonable answer say things like that because they have no understand of what a liberal is or what they believe in. It makes you a person who cares about our country and how our system functions. We shouldn't be robots following every single direction our big government and our "esteemed" leader tells us. Disliking is the first step to changing. And, things need to be seriously changed. Bush had his chance.

Besides the fact that I thought Republicans also disliked big governement and huge deficits.

Someone said something about liberals and social security and other programs. A lot of those programs and social security were set in place as a temporary basis to assist people during the great depression. These programs were not meant to remain in place. Now we are so reliant on them, even the conservatives.

Well, where I come from it makes you a conservative but maybe it's different where you live. I can't imagine anyone hating our president but that's a personal choice. Do you think you are a liberal? I thought they wanted the govt. to take care of everyone and everything in our lives and to spend unlimited amounts of money to do it. Well, I guess I could be wrong. I may have the two mixed up here. Living in a red state with a blue governor can be so confusing.

It would depend on other views as well (ex. Racial, sexual, ethnic, and religous tolerance; restrictions on liberty; unalienable rights as humans)
Do we as citizens have any reason to like Bush, deficit, and big govt.? Of course not, all of those things cost us, middle class America, money and will provide long term problems left for someone else to deal with.

But just for the record I think the question is flawed...
The size of the government is just a product of the system, and traditionally liberal leaders are more Pro-big government than conservatives. So I think combining Bush with big government is unfair.

GEORGE C....I hate to do it, but you are a liar. After reading your opinion you are not a democrat.

Doubtful since liberals brought us social security, medicare, food stamps, and a partridge in a pear tree. Not to mention the IRS, OSHA, and the Education Department. Yup, definitely an indication of wanting small government.

Its the liberals who want more government, bigger government to take care of the people, like you, who cant think for themselves or make a decision on their own. They want YOU to be dependant on Big Brother for all your needs.

As far as not liking Bush, its your right as an American citizen, to voice your opinion. Many of our troops fought and died for that right so, use it.

As far as the deficit, when the US imports more than it exports, there is a deficit. Our goods cost more, thanks in part to labor unions, who drove wages up on US made vehicles that even the guy putting on lug nuts makes $25.00 an hour. Big business has, due to the cost of doing business, moved out of the US to where its cheaper to make their product so, blame the ones, liberals, who think taxing big business is the way to go and support the welfare bunch. They are driving the deficit thru the ceiling.

I am a Conservative Democrat and no, I wont vote for Hillary or Osama Obama. Hillary putting out her " Health care plan" was a joke and she couldnt keep Bill in check. I wonder what makes her think she can manage our Country.

And Obama, is an accident waiting to happen. His years of Muslim indoctrination by his dad will show thru sooner or later. We have to have someone on the order of Jack Kennedy to run for President or, we will get another Republican.

Do some research before you start hanging titles on people. it would amaze you what you can find out just by looking.

You were a liberal long before Bush took office, it shows with every one of your questions and answers. Yea we've been keeping track on you.

I'm glad you're honored but have you even noticed how many thumbs down you get? That alone should tell you something.

Both true liberals and true conservatives dislike big government and huge deficits. Not trusting BushCo only means you are intelligent...

True conservativism involves fiscal responsibility, not deficits. True liberalism means restricted government influence on our daily lives (less government). Few who CLAIM to be either actually understand what the 2 words mean.
