They will support the ACLU until the ACLU comes after something THEY care about.

And it doesn't seem to bother them about the NAMBLA thing. Or the former president being charged with graphic child pornography.

Hopeful, I knew I liked you. Check out CLA, also. Lynn, Your numbers are way off. Nothing close to 98% of attorneys support the ACLU.

Why do Conservatives *no longer* help the ACLU? the point of the ACLU is commence-to-end, protecting the invoice of Rights. you obtain an issue with the invoice of Rights? operating example, protecting the invoice of Rights is what places the ACLU in alliance with the NRA (no longer precisely a hotbed of liberal motives) in protecting the 2d modification. protecting gun rights does no longer be on the accurate of my little liberal time table ... although the ACLU doesn't care ... the 2d modification is area of the invoice of Rights, and so the ACLU defends it, known or no longer. in addition they shield the rights of Nazis and KKK marchers in accordance with their First modification rights ... back, no longer something which will be on the accurate of my little liberal civil-rights-toutin' racist-despisin' time table ... yet that is what the ACLU does. the priority is that protecting civil liberties very virtually *continually* skill protecting unpopular motives (known motives frequently have each and each of the help they opt for). the precise element of the invoice of Rights is to shield the minority from the "tyranny of maximum people" ... i.e. often times maximum people is *incorrect*, and that is precisely why we've a structure. To boil each little thing the ACLU does to protecting sex offenders, merely exhibits that you obtain no sport. the very undeniable truth that you're feeling that being a Conservative skill opposing civil liberties via spreading simplistic incorrect information about the ACLU, does no longer communicate properly for Conservatives. have you ever no shame?

I don't always support the ACLU, but I think it serves an important purpose: to stick up for the unpopular and unsavory. Now I don't believe in some of their more extreme stances, but it takes balls to make some of them. And the child porn ring thing: how many Republicans still support the Republican party after Tom DeLay was forced to resign for ethics violations? Most of them, because the party is bigger than the people who run it. The same is true for the ACLU.

I've always supported the ACLU; they're the only org that I've ever contibuted $$ to.
What not to like about a group of people dedicated to preserving the freedom's guarenteed by our Constitution and Bill Of Rights?
I LOVE the fact that they don't choose sides. For example, they fight for the right to demonstrate, whether the demonstraters are far left, far right or middle of the road.

How many conservatives still support the GOP when a probable child molestor was found among their ranks? How many Chrisitan Conservatives still bring their children to church despite all of the child molestors, homosexuals, and drug users being found there (and yes...I'm talking protestants and evangelicals as well, not just the Catholic Church).

Those who claim to be conservative might want to think about supporting the ACLU, because they have defended people the liberals are normally against, such as the KKK.

Most liberals support the ACLU because it is the driving force behind their agenda.......... Let me explain..... First of all, liberalism has socialistic and Marxist roots. The Democratic party has been influenced significantly by liberal thought and have become the Neo-Marxists of today. They have changed the party and made it Marxist leaning. George P. Lakoff from the University of California, Berkeley is one of the fathers of Neo-Marxism and the ACLU and is a major funding and enforcement body that influences liberal and Neo-Marxist thought in the US.

Liberals and Neo-Marxists believe in the following:

-- Christians are obstacles to an "enlightened" society
-- Drugs should be legalized
-- Homosexual marriage is equal to marriage between a man and a woman
-- Against states legally mandating that parents be informed when their underage daughters have abortions
-- Abortion is good for society and is not killing a human being
-- Euthanasia is also good for society and not killing a human being
-- America is harmful to the world
-- We should appease our enemies
-- People should be allowed into the US without legal process and there should be open borders
-- Large socialized & state run programs with high taxation are good for society such as socialized medicine, transportation, media, products and services.
-- Believe in "income redistribution"--that is, the government taxing affluent Americans at a higher proportional rate in order to fund entitlements to the less well off.

Neo-Marxists want to change America by weakening the country as a nation and significantly destroying the social fabric that has been been built over 200 years of our existence and the ACLU as embraced by liberals is the main driving force behind this cause of promoting neo-Marxism.

Those who say they are Republican and support the ACLU are RINO's (Republicans in name only.) You cannot be a Republican and support their agenda. Its counter intuitive....

The ACLU is specifically created to maintain
and promote the amendments to the Constitution.

I surely support it, and so should you.

By the way, there a LOT of Republicans who
support the ACLU. Indeed, the ACLU has
worked with the NRA supporting the 2nd
amendment.

The mission of the ACLU is to preserve all of these protections and guarantees:

Your First Amendment rights-freedom of speech, association and assembly. Freedom of the press, and freedom of religion supported by the strict separation of church and state.

Your right to equal protection under the law - equal treatment regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin.

Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.

Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.

The American system of government is founded on two counterbalancing principles: that the majority of the people governs, through democratically elected representatives; and that the power even of a democratic majority must be limited, to ensure individual rights.

Majority power is limited by the Constitution's Bill of Rights, which consists of the original ten amendments ratified in 1791, plus the three post-Civil War amendments (the 13th, 14th and 15th) and the 19th Amendment (women's suffrage), adopted in 1920.

The USA has more attorneys per capita than any country in the world. About 98% of these attorneys are pro-ACLU. So......
your answer would be ALL liberals support the ACLU.
