I also work third shift at a nursing home as the night nurse (L.P.N.) , and I have seen things "out of the corner of my eye" at times, but one night I was sitting at the nurse's station finishing my skilled charting, when I realized that there was a little girl standing down at the end of Hall A outside of the administrative office. As I looked up she took off running down towards the dining room, and that hall is perpendicular to Hall A, so I didn't get a good look at her, but I do know this: she was making no noise as she ran - no footfalls. I quickly got up and went down Hall A to check the front door and maintenance door, and both were locked and their alarms set. Every night I go down that hall around midnight to do a door check, and every night I get that feeling like someone is staring at me, with a bit of chills up my spine.
Now the question is: why would a little girl be in a nursing home? I believe that as death nears for the elderly, some of them doubtless wish they could be children again, and a lot of the Alzheimer patients regress mentally to childhood, so I think it would be perfectly reasonable to have a childlike spirit form once they are released from their old, tired, sick bodies.

No wonder why people freak out about staying at nursing homes. Especially on the third or psycho floor.Maybe many of the elderly see and hear these also? It would be interesting to have some well known psychic visit a nursing home or hospital just to get a sense of how many of these lost and confused souls are wandering the halls. They also say this about prisons too. I met my first wife in a nursing home.(?)

i'm sorry your grandfather, and your relations, are dealing with this. that is hard having someone you adore sick. i have had kinfolk in nursing houses and may want to inform you that travelers are tremendous, see you later as they could manage "pleased yet no longer insanely chipper." In different words, "easily satisfied to confirm you, positive that you'll get better properly, yet no longer forcing man made cheerfullness down your throat." at the on the spot are not making your self smile consistently and be perky, merely sense free to confirm him. photo albums might want to correctly be outstanding, too. an a lot less extreme priced photo album with copies of relations pictures, including previous ones of satisfied thoughts, highly once you've relations write notes (some albums have area for that, or you could merely positioned a photo on one section and a card with a note contained in the photo pocket next to it). dealing with the album and talking about satisfied thoughts can help develop a affected individual's spirits. many times for the duration of rehab, relations can help - if he's meant to scoot alongside in a wheelchair, to illustrate, you could walk beside him, head for the nursing homestead outside section (maximum have a small backyard or patio), and chat. similar for walking. by the way, if there are any topics on your existence (no longer relations topics, merely such issues as "i'm attempting to make your options up what i pick to do with my existence") the position it may well be outstanding to get the perspective of someone with extra existence adventure, you could continually ask grandpa for his enter. Remind him that you nevertheless want and fee him. he's probable to sense up, then down, from second to second. If he's not receptive to at least something, try it back later. health center sufferers can get annoyed or unhappy searching on the speed of restore, and rehab might want to correctly be difficult - do not take his moods in my opinion. some hospitals and nursing houses will tutor you a thanks to deliver something from homestead, like a favourite pillow or blanket - you could ask on the nursing station. customarily, that is about being there, spending time, exhibiting that he continues to be valued, necessary, and loved.

It's very possible for the deceased to stay on and haunt the place because they don't realize they are dead.
