Issues such as prostitution, marriage, drugs, personal activity in the bedroom, abortion...etc.. seems to be personal, private issues, yet Republicans want Government to intervene.. trying to amend the constitution, etc... Is that not against the idea of less government? and during the last few years with Repubs in charge of House and Senate, Govt grew by leaps and bounds! So, is the idea of Republicans now TO intervene?

No one seems to be answering my questions. I know about Libertarians... there are problems with libertarians too (i.e we do need govt for police, schools, to help those who cant help themselves, etc).. the questions is about the GOP. I am not comparing Repubs to Dems or Libs or Socialists.. I am asking, since Repubs are for "less govt" ..why are they always intervening? best answer so far is that repubs want to control morals

You've been duped. Republicans are not in favor of less government.

You must understand that the Republicans who are in positions of power or which hold elected office right now have abandoned the principles of the GOP and do not truly represent Republicans on the ground--so to speak.

What you've failed to realize that the Democrats are just as willing to intrude into your life as the GOP is, given the time and the money.

You should try looking at politics thru the lense of "right and wrong" not "left vs. right"--because neither party is innocent. If you do this, I think you will see that most Americans, although they don't agree on policy, agree on principle and want the same thing, a strong country, economic security and a future for their children.

The Republican party claims it wants less government... as long as it is biased in their favor.

The issues that they wish to push into law are suppressive to the majority of the citizens of our country.

They look to change the Constitution, to give less freedom in many different ways. And claim it is for our protection from terrorists.

Just look at the ill-named "Patriot Act". What is there about it that is patriotic?

How about the "Department of Defense" when it should be called
the "Department of War".

It is all to seduce the country into believing that it is for their freedom rather then their suppression.

They do it in a subliminal manner. Each generation sees the conditions present and are led to believe that they were in existence for quite awhile. This is the insidious manner that they
keep reducing our freedoms.

The Republican party will stop at nothing to regain a foothold into
stopping the Democrats from any legislation that will go against their doctrines, but not for the good of it's citizen's...but for the good of their party.

Sadly, both Democrat and Republican office holders at all levels of government have gone off the deep end. If only the Libertarians had a shot, I think much good would come out of unseating both major political parties. The real answer is to take money out of the mix, ... we have the best government money can buy on both sides, ... I say make it illegal for lobbyists to use money to buy their way, ... they really run the country, not the people.

In my opinion I feel it is just a separate group of Republicans, this administration, that has carried their religious beliefs on marriage, abortions, personal activity in the bedroom into their policies. I mean a Republican freed the slaves so dont feel its all Republicans or Conservatives that feel the need to meddle in the lives of the people and support big government. Alot of it has do with what this particular administration feels it needs to do based on their religious beliefs.

in my opinion, i imagine tort reform is the incorrect route to take, and that i'm easily no longer a Republican, yet i could favor to understand the way a dozen human beings, who're tremendously no longer friends of the defendant, equate to the loose market. there is solid evidence that a jury is mostly incapable of information the basics of medical legal responsibility first of all, and that judgments are more suitable or a lot less random activities quite than findings of reality, so it type of feels that eliminating medical legal responsibility from the tort equipment altogether could be more suitable smart.

Democrats want to be your mommy, republicans want to be your daddy.

Only the Libertarian Party seems to believe that you are an adult capable of making your own decisions.

Republicans want you to be in control of your wallet, but want themselves to be in control of your morals.

Democrats want you to be in control of your morals, but want themselves to be in control of your wallet.

I vote Libertarian because they want you to be in control of both.
