I have a dance preformance on tuesday and I managed to smash my foot into a suitcase last night, now it's bruised and swollen, (not sprained luckily) but It hurts a bit to walk (and to dance!) and I'm worried about fitting into my tap shoes (I'm doing both Jazz and tap). Any suggestions of what I should do??

You need to put ice on it to reduce the inflammation. Also, if you have a chance to keep your foot elevated it is good too. It will help the blood circulation. Like, if you are sitting in a chair put your foot on the other chair. But ice is probably more important. There is still time before tuesday, you should be fine by then, but give it as much rest as you can now. If it still aches tomorrow - take some Advil. Make sure you warm up very well before you dance on it next time.

First of all, I would suggest not dancing in the recital, but if that is not a possibility then put some ice on your foot and see if it the swelling goes down. But if you were really dedicated you would dance even if your foot hurts.

Ice it, ice it, ice it!!!!!!!!!!! You want to be VERY careful, you should probably see a doctor if it gets much worse (you can never be too careful when it comes to dance). Don't do a lot on that foot in the days leading up to your performance, rest it up. If you're determined to perform and your feet won't fit into your shoes, some first aid tape could be usd to wrap your feet/maybe make them slightly smaller. GOOD LUCK! And don't forget to ice it!

rather than just putting your foot on ice put your foot in it get a bucket and fill it with ice then put your foot in it all the way up to your calf... that will also take some of the stress off of your achilles for trying to compensate for it.... make sure to really warm your foot back up before your recital
icy hot can feel really good too right before you go onstage just make sure to ice again afterwards then give yourself a break and let it rest afterwards
good luck:)

Put ice on it 15 minuets before you dance. Also take 2 Advil Liquid Gels and stretch out your foot.
Good Luck!

well ice helps alote, if somebody is nice enough to give you a foot massage that would maybe work but im afraid to say you might have to miss your dance. Good look and if it gets worst try seing a doctor.
