Do you feel useless?

Oh, no! I never feel useless. My family uses me for a scrub mop all the time and that give me a reason for living. Now, if they just left me in the mop closet I think I'd be a little depressed but they are kind enough to get me out once in awhile and that gives me hope for the future. Some families put their elderly on an ice floe and let them drift away to die but my family would never do that to me. As long as they can drag me around on the floor by one leg, I can be a valuable part of this family and for that I am very grateful. They let me know that they love and need me by even leaving the door open a crack so I can dry out. Aren't they just wonderful? No, not useless but very much loved!

No one else makes me feel useless, I do that to myself. On days when I am having a really bad pain day and can't get off the couch to do anything, I feel useless. I hate that feeling. I will say though that there is one person who can make me feel useless and that's my Mother in Law. She is unbelieveable, she's in her 80's and still works full time and has more energy than me and my wife put together. She has a way of saying things that make me feel useless. I have learned to ignore it and not let it get to me though.
