When I visit a website all of a sudden , I've been prompted with a message saying need flash player to view this. Its for sites that I used to visit without any problems. So I did download and installed latest version of flash player to no avail.

I've experienced problems upgrading the Flash player myself. Try uninstalling the Flash player first. Then do a fresh reinstall. I'm not sure if you're problem is the same as mine was, but this worked for me.

Had this problem recently after a serious malware attack. I am assuming that you are using IE7 with windows XP if so go to control panel, add remove programs, add remove windows componets, click on the internet explorer and hit next. What happens at that point is that windows reloads / repairs internet explorer. It worked for me.

Try uninstalling Flash: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157

Then install Flash: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&%3BLang=Japanese&%3BP5_Language=Japanese

Restart.

It should work fine after following these steps.
