I am selling my paintings on yessy.com. The problem is the guy who wants to buy it claims he has a art gallery in africa. He can only send me a check because the site yessy only allows checks from international buyers. So the buyer sends the check to yessy company, and once the buyer has claimed to recieve the artist artwork, yessy sends the check to the artist. thats how it works but what if i recieve the check and it doesnt go through, then i was scamed!

There is an african scam that has been going on for years where someone offers to buy what ever product yourselling for a higher price then you asked for. After explaining that they will send you a larger amount of money you are then asked to forward the goods before the arrival of the "funds" which never appear. If it sounds to good to be true it's probably because it is.

Yesit sounds like a scam. They want to lure you into trusting them with the tantalizing extra money.

Talk to yessy directly. Have them run the check before you ship!!! And if your buyer has a problem with it then drop the scammer and report him.

The buyer is probably just really taken with your picture and wants to be sure he gets it. Just be sure that any check or money order clears before you ship the painting. I hope that you are selling by credit card so that you are sure to get your money.

I too would feel the same way. Do not accept this from anyone. If they pay you then that's fine. But, most likely they are wanting you to send the painting before you get the money!!! Hello..... Please let all of us who are trying to sell our paintings onlineknow how you have your art work set up to sell.....

yes, it reassuresed the buyer that he will be the one you sell the painting to, since he is offering you a higher price than your asking for.
