If it is xp you should be able to log in under the admin account and delete the old password....unless you had the admin account password protected. Here is what you do.

At startup start hitting F8. A boot menu should come up. Select boot in Safe mode. Once it boots up you should see the administrator account (it doesn't show up in normal mode) Click on it then you can go into the control panel and change the password or delete it. If you get the start menu that has you type in the user name and password just type Administrator and log in that way. Hope this helps.

Once you're in safe mode, go to Start, Run and type in "control userpasswords2." A new window will then come up with all of your passwords, etc. listed. Click to highlight the Administrator account and hit the Reset Password button. Type in a new password in both the New Password and Confirm New Password boxes. Click OK and your passwords will be changed.

I'm not sure. A lot of times, when you want to change and use a new password, you have to sign in with the old password. If your talking about your computer sign-in password, then I don't know. If it's for a web page on the internet, you have to have a connection to get to it. The way I keep track of my passwords is to use this program called Roboform, it keeps track of and remembers all of your passwords. It evens signs in for you, generates new passwords for you, fills out forms. i can't live without it.

Format the hard drive and Re-install Windows (do a Clean Install). That will clear all old passwords and delete all your personal data.

If no Windows CD, try Kubuntu Linux instead. Google /Yahoo search for it.
