Because of their diverse genetic background from a variety of parent breeds, plus selection for hardiness by the nature of their work, lurchers usually have an cast-iron constitution. The few I know of lived well into their teens barring accidents.
They're really a neat dog, like many of the strains of working dogs that aren't recognized as a breed that are found in my native Appalacian mountains, like mountain curs and mountain feists and the "indigenous yellow cur." Their selective breeding has been based on performance, not appearance, which produces a tough and resiliant dog.

As they are crossbreeds it is tough to predict.
How big is it?If it is greyhound size or similar it will probably live around 10-13 years assuming you care for it well.
A lurcher that is closer to whippet size may live longer-up to 15 years or so if your lucky.
However this is only a guide.Crossbreeds like lurchers tend to be far hardier than purebreeds and even big crossbreeds can live a long time.
They are great, loyal and affectionate dogs-enjoy yours.

Average 10-12yrs the same as most dogs. You can't say how long any dog can live for, only on average.
