I agree with Country Boy---buy a Stihl. I've had a half a dozen saws and there is NOTHING more frustrating than going out and being all ready to tackle a new project----and not have the saw start. I've now had my Stihl for five years---it starts easily every time, and it REALLY makes the wood chips fly! I'll never own anything but a Stihl from now on.

Got to be a Husqvarna 350 from the States. Look around as the exchange rate is brilliant at the moment and you should get a great deal.
I bought a 350 and have been really impressed. I've used Stihl, which are excellent saws, and Husqies, but for value for money the 350 is a great deal for low use pro' and the home owner.
I use mine a lot as a pro' and use Stihl saws too, but for saw for your money the Husqie always turns out cheaper.
If you can stump up the extra cash go for a Stihl as they are easier to change the sprocket on, but I stihl (ho ho) stick with the 350, it's a lot of saw for the money and very reliable.
Most tree surgeons fanatically stick with Stihl, but I haven't got any of my colleagues to give a logical reason why. That said most forest workers use Husqvarna.
If you're going to use it day in day out, buy a professional Stihl.
If you're going to use it at home or for light professional work, you'll get more Husqvarna for you money. That said the cheapest Stihl domestic saws are very good too.
But for around £150 - £200 I'd pick the 350 as it's the lowest cost pro' saw that you're likely to get.
Hope that helps. If you get any more technical questions etc, I'd be more than happy to help out.
Hope you have every success.
P.S. If you're not trained, pay the money and get some training, it's a lot less expensive than a plastic leg.

they are really expensive here. If you have friends who are going to the US they can get a really nice one for 300usd. Poulan starts about about 100 usd or 50 pounds and can be found at home depot. husquarvana starts at 261usd (130 pounds) for a 16 inch blade.(lowes.com) You can have it shipped directly to their hotel. All they have to do is carry it back.
