If someone could answer this mind boggling question I just might be able to sleep at night...how does Akron, VCU, Marist and Appalachian St. get votes and Tennessee not get one vote? You have got to be kidding me...

How do you get 42 votes in the AP and zero in the coaches? I was wondering the same thing. There is no way in the world that should happen. Who said SEC is weak this year? Been in top 3 of conference RPI rankings all year and the majority of the year #1. Last week they were #1. How can you say that?

Coaches are worse then a bunch of high-school students voting for homecoming. They don't like Bruce Pearls personality
or the fact he gets all that attention from ESPN and the national media.

Rankings in college B&B are meaningless , so I wouldn't lose any sleep over this. Tennessee have the rankings that really matter RPI-#16 Strenght of Schedule #4.

This team may be on the verge of getting a vote or two and may make the top 25 with a good showing in the last few games. It's key losses to Miss, USC, and Auburn that are killing them. You have to look at the level of play in a conference. This isn't football. The fact is...the SEC isn't a good conference for basketball. They have one good team (that is falling fast) and another team that is riding a wave of luck. Other than that...not a strong case for the SEC this year.

i have no idea.
ya UT lost to bad teams, but most of them were when Lofton was out.
Ut is one of the few teams that beat Memphis and they also beat Texas, Okla. St., UK, Vandy, and now UF.
This is crazy!
