remote assistanct can i spread a virus to my computer if there is one in theirs?

a friend is having trouble with their computer and i would like to take control to help them bbut i don't want to get the virus in mine

Yes first of all u should have Capable antivirus to handle that virus then u can do that!!!

The only way you could get the virus is if the person on the other end actually had the virus file and wanted to send it to you. There is no way that the virus can transfer across remote assistance by itself.

It would be possible. Your opening a direct connection from pc to another. It would probably depend on the virus.
