I'm looking for a job that pays at least $50,000+ that does not involve dressing up or dealing with people all day. I would also like my weekends free, good benefits, and room for advancment. Does anyone have any suggestions on what careers I should look at????

Dear Jcmt3129,
Just because I'd rather wear jeans & boots and lift boxes all day, instead of a wearing a tie and dealing with clients doesn't mean I'm a "lazy slob" Get it? GOOD!!!!

Joe, not knowing your experience, it's little difficult to give you a more specific response. To give a general answer you might want to look at positions that are more technical in nature ie; Programmer, Architect, etc. There is a program offered by Texas Technical College, which is one of the few schools in the US that offers a course Medical Equipment Repair. If you are a top performer, each of these areas offers very competitive salaries, with minimal people interaction.

There is a lot of opportunities there for you and you may want to look into field of being an electrician or plumber , welder , tool and die mold maker , millwright , lawn and yard maintenance , If you haven't already left school may be you should seek the help of career counsellor and depending on aptitude test see where it will lead you too . I guess its always good to rely on your dreams

I'd apply at your local airport TSA (Security) you don't have to work upstairs with the public, you can work downstairs with the baggage x-rays.. baggage handlers, driving the little carts around. The pay is good, casual dress, your main contact is only other employees and definitely room for advancement.

Lifting boxes all day isn't going to pay you $50,000 unless you drive 14 hours a day delivering them to PEOPLE. They may let you wear shorts when it gets hot.

You could post a career needed ad in your local newspaper. For best results I suggest using the heading "Lazy slob looking for a hand out. NO CALLS PLEASE, I don't like dealing with people". Best of luck
