Since you have management experience try applying at a smaller hotel and they might give you a chance.Other wise just apply for something like an night auditor and try to work your way up.

You need to have experience in the hotel field, especially other managment roles within hospitality in order to manage a hotel. There is alot more involved than just booking reservations and cleaning rooms.
Try going for a lower-level management position, like banquets, desk supervisor, etc. and work your way up.

Maybe take some hospitality/hotel management courses at the local college. Until you get pretty high up on the ladder, hotel managers don't make a whole lot of $$.

How do you expect to run a hotel if you've never worked at one? Sure, you could take your management experience and manage staff; but I would think you'd want to at least WORK at one for awhile, to figure out if that's what you really want. It's harder than it looks!

You know nothing about hotel management but want to go into that?
I would keep you out of any hotel I own!
Buy one, then you can mismanage it any which way you want.
